Xbox One controller : broken left bumper.

Bonjour.

I bought last year, the Halo 5 guardians exclusive controller "the Master Chief".

But, a few days ago, the left bumper broke.

So, i'd like to know if i can just repair/change the broken piece. Change the the controller. Or any way how to resolve this issue. (Though, i'd prefer to fix/change the broken piece. Tis muh contruhllur.)

And if there's anything i can do, then, how i should proceed.

Xbox One Day One Controller-broken left bumper

I'm on support chat now - except its been 60 minutes with no reply, so I have a feeling Jayson has ditched me. Think for my sanity, I'm going to try and put the casing and D pad on a normal one, then send in my broken one to get replaced normal-for-normal.
I'll run into issues if the D pad has something wrong

Congratulations everyone! As I mentioned previously I mailed in my broken controller nearly a month ago at this point, and yay! today I received my replacement! I opened it up, in a box big enough to fit a soccer ball in with about an 8.5x11" piece of paper
thin "bubble" wrap and a letter. According to the letter "We noticed we received either a disc or other accessory with your replacement console so we are sending this one back to you!"

ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME?!?!?!

I literally printed out THREE (3) copies of BOTH service request numbers, one for the controller, and one for the broken console, and even WROTE A LETTER explaining the issue, STAPLED both service request receipts to it, and wrapped the controller in like
six layers of bubble wrap and then even the replacement INVOICE, covered in clear packing tape.

I do all this, and about two weeks ago I get an email from some guy named "Ryan" at the "Advocacy Team". "Hi, we are just reaching out to see how your replacement went, blah blah blah, we noticed that you had a second service order open for a controller
that we never received and want to know if you still wanted it repaired?"

I nearly flipped my lid, explained the situation to him, the fact about all of the invoices, the letter, sent him the tracking number stating they have had it for nearly two weeks already, and he assures me he is going to take care of it. Fine. Next day
I receive a tracking number and it looks like things are good. This was December 26th. Then, today happens.

So, finally I call in today, absolutely pissed off but remaining calm and understanding that the guy on the phone has nothing to do with it, and he says we have to set up ANOTHER exchange, and I can't get an advanced one. Plus, the exchange now mentions
nothing about a DAY ONE EDITION controller. PLUS, I HAVE TO PAY TO MAIL THE THING BACK, AGAIN.

This is going all over the BBB and everywhere else I can post it. At this point I am just fed up with the whole thing and ready to just send the entire thing back to Microsoft and cutting my losses.

Unfortunately, if you bought the controller last year, it is outside of the warranty period. There are no authorized/approved methods of repairing the controller at home. If it is still under warranty, please make sure to visit the
Online Service Center and register your Xbox One console and then select 'Replace an accessory' under the 'Get Support' column. Otherwise you would be better off buying a new controller.
