Xbox One controller and Windows 10 - Not Working

Controller will work just fine for a few seconds before "locking" whatever input was last place and will not respond to new input after that. I've tested using another micro-usb cables, multiple usb ports on my computer, and I even used a friend's Xbox Elite
Controller but all no no avail.

I have even tried the installation instructions for downloading specific drivers compatible with my computer (AMD - 64 bit) despite them originally being a step for Windows 7 and 8 installation. That driver worked perfectly fine but only for a full minute
instead of a few seconds. I then tested every driver available from the choices there but none of them worked as well.

The problem is more than likely software but any suggestion would be more than welcomed.

Computer specs:

Windows 10

AMD FX-6300 Six-core processor 3.50 GHz

Ram: 8.0 GB

System Type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Xbox One controller is the older model (without the 3.5mm audiojack) but does not require updating according to the Xbox Accesories app on the computer.

Have same problem with "Xbox one controller for windows 10". Buy it, put in usb port, update from "Xbox accessories" and controller does not working.

 

Windows 10 Anniversry and Xbox One Controller error code 10

After Windows 10 updated to build is version 1607 build 14393.351,My Xbox One Controller version 10.0.14393.0 the controller stops working completely with error code 10 (The device cannot start.) and the Xbox Accessories app does not see my controller at
all. Before the Windows 10 Anniversary Update the controller, version 6.2.11059.0, was working fine in every game. Now with that version 6.2.11059.0, the controller works on some games and others are spotty, from not registering the button press to registering
maybe 1000 button presses, to not working at all. My Windows 10 build is version 1607 build 14393.351.

Is Microsoft aware of this problem? I have reported the issue. Wonder if this will ever be corrected.

Hello, since Windows 10 already has the driver for the controller, I am afraid your best option is to go to Settings > Update and Recovery and refresh the PC (you will lose your installed software); or download the Media Creation Tool and select "upgrade
this PC now" and you won't lose anything at all.
