Xbox one controller and wifi disconnecting at the same time.

After the February upate I'm getting dc'd from live and my controller will dc at the same time. Playing destiny the controller will start blinking and then I'll get booted to the title screen. Live will usually reconnect on its own after a short time.
Settings and setup haven't changed at all since day one. All required ports are open on my router, speeds are all fine. Support chat was no help and I've seen maybe one other topic about this. Running the console wired seems to fix the problem, sadly it's
not a viable option with my space. I'm leaning towards a faulty wireless board on the console, anyone else in the same boat?

Xbox Live and controller disconnecting at the same time

Ever since the 4/13 update my xbone has been acting strange. My controllers are not staying connected to the console and whenever they get disconnected, I also get disconnected from xbox live. My brother has an xbone in the house as well and he is having
no issues. Our wifi signal is strong and consistent and there are no NAT issues. I have read that it could be frequency interference so I set my xbox to the 5ghz frequency rather than 2.4 ghz and I am still having issues. There are several older threads about
this happening to people after past updates but no solutions. Is this happening to anyone else?

Ever since I got my xbox one in June last year I have had an issue with both my controller and wifi disconnecting at the same time I could be half way through a game and bam disconnected from xbox live and the controller starts flashing and holds onto
the last command. so I followed every step on the forums to no avail still now the controller is connected via cable it will still flash as if it has been disconnected it happens all throughout the day and not even hard reboot of the system will stop it, the
connection can be strong for 2 hours or 5 minutes, but both wifi and controller disconnect at the same time.. Does anybody else have this issue ? And does anybody know of a fix Baring In mind I have tried everything but buying new console and controller

Sorry to hear about the odd disconnecting issue! To ensure your Xbox One console isn't the cause, would you be able to post the model information of your router and modem?

That information will help us see if their can be anything else causing the online disconnect issue!

 

Seems that a bunch of people are having these issues post Feb system update. Linksys router, not sure of the modem. Console has worked fine with minor hiccups up until the update went live.

 

All ports are open, tried clearing the alternate mac from the console, power cycled all equipment multiple times, all to no avail.

Thanks! I have a couple more questions.

1. Do you have more than one Xbox console in your home?
2. Is the Motorola SBG6580 you are using connected to your Linksys router via bridge mode? Bridge mode turns off wireless capabilities so that the Linksys router can take over.
   

It appears both devices have known disconnect issues for consoles, and since one is a normal router and the other is a gateway (router/modem in one device), we will want to try removing the router and have the console connect to the Motorola gateway. This
means that if the console is connected via bridge mode, you will need to contact your ISP to reset it so that the wireless functionality is restored. If bridge mode is not set up, the simply remove the router and connect to the gateway.

That is the best next step to try to isolate the issue. post back and let us know how it goes!

Not sure if the gateway is in bridge mode or not, will have to test that out later.

 

And why would this cause my controller to disconnect at the same time, every time?

 

That's the odd part that I hope troubleshooting your wireless connection will resolve. I'd like to see if the controller disconnects occur if your wireless connection stops disconnecting.

I'm not dismissing your suspicions, I just want to exhaust all of our options before we get to a final verdict.

Checked the gateway, bridge mode was disabled. Switched it on and will be testing that out shortly.

 

Cool! The next thing to try after that is to disable bridge mode again, unplug your Linksys router, and then connect your console to the Motorola's wireless signal.

 

Bridge mode failed. Will try connecting to the gateway later. Pretty positive that the Feb update is the culprit here. There are numerous reports of similar situations all over the support boards now. Connection was fine prior to update and short of
a spontaneous hardware failure I'm not sure what else could be doing this.
