Xbox One controller and play and charge kit issues

Ok, one post two problems. Had my console around six weeks now and this is the second time I've encountered problem number one. It's the second occasion where after replacing the batteries in my controller that it will not reconnect with the console. It
took a couple of hours last time of trying to connect it, swapping the batteries around, console off and on etc and it just suddenly worked. Problem number two. Bought a play and charge kit a couple of weeks ago but was waiting till all the batteries I'd bought
had run out. When I connect the controller via the cable, which I tried for the first time due to problem number one, the controller connects to the console but doesn't function properly. I can navigate the home screen but when I press A to select a tile the
tile flashes showing that it's registering a button press but I have to mash the button to access it. It's impossible to play any games as when I try the controller is registering buttons that I'm not pressing, for example Max The Curse of Brotherhood the
magic marker is permanently on screen indicating R2 is being held down and the controller is completely unresponsive in any other way except for the home button. When I first encountered the controller reconnection issue I tried using the usb cable from both
my mobile phone and kindle and had the same issues as with the play and charge kit, I put this down to those cables possibly not being up to scratch, clearly not the case. I've tried all three usb ports on the console with the same results on each. Anyone
else encountered these issues?

Xbox One Elite contoller - play & charge kit drains too fast

Hello.

My problem is following: I bought new Xbox One Elite controller. I put my play & charge kit (battery) to it.

The battery should last 30 hrs. With my elite controller, I only get 8hrs of gametime before it dies.

I previusly had another elite controller with the same play and charge kit battery, had no issues at the time.

I also tested my play and charge kit with my Xbox One S- contoller, battery life is good.

So, problem is not the play and charge battery kit, but my current elite controller. I also noticed that it shut it self down in middle of gaming... Could I have a faulty controller? How to fix it?

Xbox One Wired Controller

I am unaware if they will be releasing a hardwired controller. If you must play wired, I suggest purchasing a play and charge kit and just leaving the controller plugged in. www.xbox.com/.../play-and-charge-kit

 

That's six hours now that my console has effectively been a £450 brick
