    Xbox One controller analog sticks vertically loose


    A few days ago I got myself an Xbox One controller for use with my PC. However, I've noticed that the analog sticks are not only able to be pulled slightly out and popped back in (which I guess all controllers do for some reason), but when I push them forward
    or pull them backwards, they shift a bit in their vertical position, i.e. when I pull them back, the ball skates ~3mm towards the back end of the controller, and when I push it away, it skates towards me. This makes the stick frequently jump slightly when
    I use it which is actually pretty annoying. Is this normal for the Xbox One controller? And does somebody know the reason for the weird design?

    Hey Crixus! If you have the Day One Edition controller it's most likely not in warranty now, so you may need to purchase another if it's not working. See a link to the warranty below. You can also check myservice.xbox.com to see more options.

    I've been having the same problem for a while now. How much money does it cost to get a replacement controller for my xbox one. as I have the day one edition. nothing else is wrong with the controller besides the veritical shift. who do I contact to get

    hi there StatesideZero9 there has been a problem with some xbox one controllers my first controller had the same problem you had all it is is a fualty product i recommend yo take the recipt back to the store of whith the controller and get a new one thats

    Yep i got the same exact problem but i dont have my receipt lol. so i ordered a replacement by Microsoft. did your new controller do it again StatesideZero?

    Although Microsoft's support called it a defect, the store did not. I then checked more than a few controllers at my workplace (game company with controllers everywhere), and they ALL had analog sticks which could be displaced vertically. I guess this means
    it's NOT a matter of faulty products but rather a very strange (and annoying, for me at least) design.

    yep, i got my controller back and the same problem... oh well ill just open it up and fix it manually.
