Xbox One Controller - Analog Stick Faulty

My Day One edition controller left analog stick started to click and pop when used playing FIFA 14. It gradually got worse until I contacted support and sent it off for repair (at my expense I might add!!). In the meantime I bought another - standard - controller
and that again showed the same issue after a few hours on FIFA. That one has also been sent back, to the store this time, and a replacement issued.

Some say I just got unlucky but the nature of the fault and when it was occurring led me to believe the sticks just aren't holding up to the frantic movements sometimes used when playing FIFA (fast flicks, etc).

Because of this I wrote a
blog detailing the issue and have updated it today with a video from another user taking the controller apart and showing why the fault occurs.

I'm hoping Microsoft are going to take note of this and hopefully some action. My main worry is it will continue to happen (I haven't had a chance to try out the replacement controllers yet) in which case I don't know how/when it would be resolved. I'm also
severely unhappy at having to pay postage to send an item to be repaired that is less than three months old, something presumably I will have to continue to do if the controllers keep breaking?

I'm keeping faith for now as a long time Xbox user but my patience will eventually wear out.

So, is anyone else having the same issue? Has anyone heard anything different from Microsoft?

Xbox one controller has one flaw

When you compare the xbox one controller to the ps4 controller, the xbox one controller has one flaw.

More of a health and safety problem actually.

The "r3" right analog stick on the xbox one controller takes a bit of force to push it in, alot more force compared to the ps4 controller. ps4 controller right analog stick, you can push it in many times with out any repercussions to your wrists.

When you need too use the r3 analog stick on the xbox one controller to do things repeated in a game , such as go to third person while you are driving a tank. You press r3 in todo that.

I've had exactly the same issue. Two controllers and both have the same left stick fault.

My faulty day one edition is still here because of the high postage costs to return it and the second has been replaced straight away by amazon.

 

I have had the same problem with two controllers. I was promised by Xbox customer service that someone would call me back about the issue. I was never called back on three occasions. When I called the third time I was advised to send the controllers back
and pay for postage. I then revived two controllers in the post, one with the exact same problem. I have called xbox yet again only to be told that someone will have to call me back. I feel that the whole experience has put me off buying anymore products from
Microsoft. I am now enquiring about a full refund.

 

I've now had three controllers break and am expecting the fourth to go the same way. I'm so annoyed this morning that I'm considering boxing the lot back up and sending it back for a full refund.

 

Don't send your controller in there is an easy fix you can do yourself. Go to youtube and look up hoe to take apart the xbox one controller and you will get step by step instructions and what tools you will need. The problem with the left stick is it just
doesn't sit tight on the little pole sticking off the analog mechanism so do like I did and take the controller apart, remove the sticks and flip them over and put a very small drop of superglue in the hole where the little pole slides in making sure to not
get any outside the hole, then reattach the sticks and hold them tight for 30 to 60 seconds, moving the sticks ever so slightly to make sure any escaping glue does not freeze up the mechanisms. Put the controller back together and now you have extremely precise
tight sticks that won't click or feel lose. As the old saying goes if you want something done right do it yourself.

 

Superglue my own thumb stick, sounds risky. Just keep sending back for replacement by MS. Eventually they will fix this and you will get XB1 controller v2 with fixed sticks...finger crossed. Of my two pads, one has loose left thumb stick and the other
has loose right thumb stick /sigh.

 

I'm having a similar problem with mine, my left tumbstick looks centred but for some reason without even touching the controller it keeps scrolling up.

very annoying on Fifa Pro Clubs when your trying to keep in position using the LB button, but because of the thumbstick your player always runs off the pitch if you don't pay attention, however i have a replacement coming out for it free of charge. I just
used the Xbox Support Chat and the guy i spoke to was good enough to send out a replacement, try using that if your having problems too.

 

The exact same thing has just happened to me! Playing fifa online on XB1 was running towards the box then cut in on the inside and the left analogue is just clicking and sometimes doesn't recenter and it sounds like something is loose in the pad now! I have
cover with GAME.co.Uk will that be under warranty with them because I'm not paying for postage to send it off when it a faulty product

 

After only 2 months of use, my left stick is drifting up without touching it, and it is getting worse every time I play.

 

Just had same problem with my left stick sent it back just borrowed my mates and his has gone now too design fault for sure Microsoft have got to get this sorted quick no such problem with the 360 controller

 

4th controller since xmas.. Please microsoft PLEASE do a recall, we know they are faulty.

 

My day 1 controller left stick drifts and doesn't track correctly as well. However, I purchased a second one and the Titanfall controller and do not have the problem with those. Definitely disappointing to have it operating so poorly right out of the box.
The Titanfall controller is much better but awfully expensive which is why I purchased only one of those. My guests get the working standard controller. The broken controller is in the junk pile with a bunch of 360 headsets.

 

What a joke. I have gone through 5 controllers and all the controllers left stick grinds and sticks. So frustrating... How do they put out a product that is so bad. With any minimal trial and testing they would see this as a clear issue. Maybe just a ***
money grab. I am going to try SONY before I go spend any more money on broken products.
