    Xbox One Controller Adapter for Headset.


    I have one of the original Xbox controllers when the console was released in 2013, and my controller has a 12 pin adapter. I've used the headset that came in the box for a really long time, but it broke, and I have been trying to find a replacement.

    However, all the headsets designed now are for 3.5 mm outputs and is not compatible with my controller. The adapter for the controller so I can plug in 3.5 mm output costs $50 which is almost the price of a new controller. On top of that, the only low-cost headset I can buy with an adapter is the original Xbox headset, however, it costs $25 and I know the headset will break in a couple of months because it is not great quality.

    Can Microsoft please address this issue by lowering the cost in the future, because it is not feasible to spend money on an unnecessary controller when all I need is a headset.

    How do we update the controller? NO USB Cable comes with Xbox One.

    About updating controller, To use the Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter with your Xbox One Console, you’ll need to update your Xbox One Controller with the latest software to support the Adapter.

    This is from:

    So Titanfall controller update is done by over air, no cable, (February update) and Stereo Headset Adapter controller update you need an cable, which comes with the adapter (March update).

    The Xbox One does not support USB headset, the console only supports wired connection to the controller via the 3.5 mm jack or with the Xbox One headset adapter. which connects to the bottom of the controller, or you can use a wireless headset which connects
    straight to the Xbox One wireless connection. Your best bet would be to purchase the Xbox One headset adapter.

    If your Xbox one Controller doesn't work or gets disconnected after you plug in your Stereo Headset Adapter, unplug your adapter,
    and then update your controller without the adapter. After the controller is updated, insert your Stereo Headset Adapter back into the controller.
