I am Not an X1 owner, but I think I can safely say that no hardware improvements to the X1 Controller has been made.

However, if memory serves. I think someone posted in times past that you can connect your controller to the system via a cable and it will update the controllers software.

No, the thumb sticks are the same. If you want tighter thumb sticks you'll have to get an aftermarket controller. I have one from BattleBeavercustoms and it's awesome. You can get a stock x1 controller with 360 tension sticks for $85 or you can send one
of you own in.

Is this an Xbox One controller, or an Xbox 360 controller? If it's an Xbox One controller, are you connecting wirelessly to the PC via Bluetooth, or with the Xbox Wireless Adapter?

Well what kind of controller is this is it the original Xbox one controller or 3.5mm controller? If it is the original Xbox one controller it might be the controller malfunctioning with your Xbox because they are outdated.
