Xbox One continues to not read discs.

Hello all. My disc drive will not read any discs - game or blu ray. I have spent time on the phone with support and have gone through all the trouble shooting tips they have walked me through. I had the drive replaced in February of 2015 because it was
making the grinding noise when discs were inserted. I get no error codes, only the message that the disc cannot be read, please try again later. Is anyone else having this issue? MS Support has been less than helpful in their response to my issue. I would
liek to get this resolved but nothing seems to work.

Error code. And maybe a dirty or damaged disc.

Sorry to hear about the disc troubles. Is your Xbox One console able to read other Xbox One game discs? If your copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 continues to experience disc read errors while other discs work, that may indicate the disc needs to be replaced.

Give another disc a try and let us know how it goes!

Yes there is. Just delete your profile from the system then do a factory reset on the console.

Here are a couple of things that other users have said work for them.

1. Hold the disc and make the drive have to strain to load it. Not too hard just hard enough so that it does not load easily.

2. Put something like a CD /DVD case under the front edge of the console. That seems to help some situations.s

I know this is not normal but other users have said that it works for them. Don't shoot the messenger.

Thanks. Tried the elevate the front and letting the drive tug on the disc and got all of them to play. A shame you have to do that with a "Next Gen" console....

Hi,

It's not the discs it's your console. If your console can not read DVD movies then it won't read Xbox 360 games either. DVD movie discs use the same type of discs that 360 games use (DVD-9).

The Xbox One has two lasers to read discs. One for Blu-rays - which Xbox One discs games are made of - and one for reading DVD's and Xbox 360 games.

troubleshoot guide for unable to read disc.

If continues to have issues there may be an issue with the disc itself.
