    Xbox One content in Canada vs. US?


    I just setup my Xbox One... my region by default was US, and I didn't change it and I have some US specific content, AND I could passthough HDMI to get TV on Xbox TV and change channels, etc... ableit with the wrong channel guide.



    Any advantage of keeping region to US? What do we miss when switching it to Canada? What do folks in CA do?

    Xbox One user in Canada... keeping region as US?

    First post....

    So, I just got my Xbox, and as my original email's profile was based in US, I have initially setup the region as US. Interestingly, I now get a whole slew of US apps, I can watch my cable through Xobx TV (but with the wrong guide), but I seem to have some issues playing ESPN videos, and I cannot purchase Xbox Live Gold, etc...

    So, question is, is it worth keeping the region to US or it cause more issues than losing content being in Canada? What do Canadian users typically do?

    I've done this on other devices for more US selection (like for iTunes Radio), but not sure if Xbox US content is IP-based and if it has that significant level of better content in US vs. Canada?

    for one video and music content is region locked you may see the content but you wioll face issues downloading out of region content

    also same goes for digital games and dlc as most triple a titles are region locked

    XBL Gold is not region-locked. So you should be okay.

    Moved USA -> Canada

    Just one final note. You will have access to content on your US dash that is not available in Canada. This includes some apps/games/etc. You will more than likely receive an error when attempting to download/use this content while in Canada.

    I can't see them doing away with points completely... maybe, they'll simply add the option of paying in cash as well (like Games on Demand). I have always kinda liked the points system, I personally don't want to see it go.

    • If Microsoft Got Rid of Points and started using actual Dollars maybe we would see equality.
    • Does anyone own a PS3 their pre-paid cards are in dollars.
    • Nintendo with the 3DS and Wii U has changed from Points to Cash Value
