Xbox one console willnot sync

Currently having an issue. I left for a week vacation the system was set to receive updates. There were no power surges around that I am aware of nor updates. I came home and now the xbox will not sync controllers. When I press the
sync button on the side of the xbox it just makes a an internal sound and does not even start the Sync process. The 2 controllers I have , one from another system, will start the sync process but that is it. The controller will only work via usb. When unplugged
it does not remain synced. It is the same with other controllers as well. I have tried it all. Hard power cycle, unplugging reset all nada. Searching the web seems to bring up no answered questions. When the sync button on the xbox is pressed it makes an internal
conformation sound but that is it. The system is hard wired via lan and is running Os version 10.0.15063.3054. I am foreseeing that the only way to rectify this issue is to sent it in for repairs.

How to Sync a Wireless Controller

The following guide will help you connect any extra controllers purchased to your console. Please note the controller that came with your Xbox One is already synced. Conveniently there are now three different ways to sync a controller, which are:

• Using the console’s connect button
• Using Kinect
• Using a USB to micro-USB cable.

Method One: Connect Button​

Let’s start with the first and most important step, install batteries into the controller. Next, turn on the controller by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the controller.

If the controller is not synced then you will see the light on the Xbox button will pulsate, if it is already synced then it will display a solid light.

Next press the sync button on your console; it is located on the left side of the console, right next to the disc drive.

Immediately afterwards press the sync button on the controller. It is a small round button on the top of the controller, near the mini usb port.

Once the controller syncs with the console the light on the controller will flash a few times before switching to a solid state.


Method Two: Kinect ​

First lets make sure the console and controller are both powered on.

Press the sync button on the top of the controller and wait for the light on the controller to pulse. Aim the controller towards the Kinect and make sure the LEDs on the controller ARE FLASHING IN THE DIRECTION OF THE KINECT.

Once the Xbox light on the controller stops pulsating and goes solid, your controller has successfully been synced with your console.


Method Three: USB Cable​

Using a micro usb connection or the play & charge kit, connect the controller to the console. This will automatically sync the controller (note the console must be powered on first.). This will also turn your wirelesses controller into a wired controller, meaning no battery would be necessary.

I can confirm you can save your cloud saves on multiple consoles, that's why it's cloud. The cloud is out there to server our saves no matter where we are, just download profile and sync the game.

I'd check out trouble shooting to find out why that other console isn't sync'ing up your stuff.

Online Service Center will be the next best step based on the information provided. Just to clarify, you have tried a

Factory Restore on your Xbox One console correct? If you haven't, please go ahead and do that before going down the repair route.

Yeah I tried the reset. Bummer I need to get it fixed since it is only like 2 years old.

 

Yesterday I found that my power supply had become unplugged. How long it had been unplugged since I had last used it the day before yesterday I am not sure. When I plugged it back in and powered it up I decided one more time to sync the controller. It worked.
Something about having the power supply disconnected for probably a day had an effect on it and possibly reset the settings. Anyways this is what worked for me.
