Discus and support Xbox One Console Update in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; Came back from holiday. System said I needed a console update.     Xbox One Console Update


    Came back from holiday. System said I needed a console update. Tried the update (330 MB) and it took almost an hour before it bombed. Tried it again. Bombed again. Reboot and try again. Took forever and then got a E100 00000706 80070079 Error and directed
    to the support site. Went there and the result is "you need to replace your device"???? Really?? My device was working fine before I did Microsoft's update. I am not pleased.

    Xbox One Installing Game Updates

    I've never read that the Xbox One is supposed to perform game updates in standby ?

    As far as I'm aware the auto update feature is for console updates.

    Are you trying the update wired or wireless ? Some have had issues with wireless here lately...

    Exact same boat as me, run a wired connection at all time.

    Contacted support who claim its an issue on their end which will be resolved within 24 hours!

    Staff were adamant it was their an issue on their end!

    Wait and see i guess??

    Hi Buddy..

    Updates are very safe.. I have my XBox 360 and XBox One on autoupdate.. When it needs to update it will do it for me. I've been playing on XBox One for years never an error.

    Hi! Of course you can, but you should update the xbox one, otherwise you will not have access to xbox live.

    If you are in the Insiders Club you will get downloads more often then if you are not. I'd say the second one was for some bugs but I'm not entirely sure myself. You can always opp out of the Insiders Club if you don't want so many updates. I myself don't
    mind it. I like having the newer stuff.

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are interested in learning how to cancel an Xbox One update. You can choose to not update your console automatically, but eventually the console will need to download updates to use Xbox
