Xbox One Console - Region Free?

Hi Guys,

I'm moving from the US to the UK soon.

A long time ago I read something on the internet about the xbox one console actually being
region free and being able to read / play discs regardless of where they were coded too.

Can anyone confirm that this is true? I know this was not the case for my xbox 360, and looking at the games I actually have physical discs for, I do not see a region code on the box.

I did try to confirm this by calling Xbox Support but they just kept talking to me about migrating my account :S Not the same. ha!

China has a bunch of x1 exclusives

Now that I'm thinking of it, i havent heard anything from anywhere yet, but...

I'm betting the China Xbox One console will be region locked. This isnt a simple region release for a console. Microsoft probably had to jump through more hoops to release their console in the country than China is willing to in order to get the product.

Hey chief,

Xbox one consoles are region coded to specific regions - game disks for the xbox one console are not coded to regions as per the above link.

 

The xbox one is indeed region free for games,not blu-rays though.

You will need the correct power brick for the U.K. though which you should be able to get from the Microsoft store once your there.

 

Of Course I can't find the PSU on their UK store, and Xbox Support US told me they dont sell them direct (Both US and UK) but I'm sure I can find one somewhere.
