    Xbox one console not controlling TV since receiving it back from service.


    I recently had to send my xbox one into Microsoft for service. Since I received it back I am unable to control the TV with the xbox one. This means not powering on or off or responding to volume commands.

    I have tested and the kinect IR is working. Tested with steps found http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/live-tv/troubleshoot-oneguide

    I have done the automatic setup of the television in the device setup as well as manually entering in the codes. I have an LG 55LB5900-UV television.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    IR Media Remote dont use kinect ?

    I'm not having issues with controlling my TV and Cable recciver, that works fine through HDMI commands from the Xbox, the problem is that the Xbox one only seem to have a IR recciver on the console itself (hidden in a closet), and no IR recciver on the Kinect
    (positioned above TV)

    Newbie question: Switching back to television mode

    When you switch it over, are you leaving the Dish receiver turned on? Your Dish receiver may be sensing that the TV is off, since it's not receiving a signal from the TV. It is probably timing out. Try turning off the Dish receiver when you turn the Xbox
    on, then turn it back on when you watch TV.

    Still looking. I have tried power cycling the Xbox by holding the power on the unit for 10 seconds until it powers off. Other than that still out of ideas.

    I have the exact same tv and I have IR extension cables that their customer service suggested I buy and I have the same problem as you, no volume control and no ability to turn the tv on or off. Please advise if you've found a solution.

    I have the same problem with the same TV. It will not control TV power either off or on. I also can't get my Xbox to turn on by saying Xbox On, either. But Xbox off works, just won't turn TV off.

    AV Receiver issue with volume control

    Does the order of devices added dictate which device the xbox controls by default. I want my receiver to control volume but the xbox sends volume commands to the tv. I did add the tv first since it was part of the setup routine. I have to go back in and
    add the receiver afterwards. It does control both. Ie it turns them all on or off, but it won't send the volume up command to the receiver.
