Xbox One console makes a high pitched beep out of seemingly nowhere?

I have an original so it is quite old at this point. And yes the noise just happens randomly during gameplay.

These posts seem to suggest try turning off instant on and disabling background updates. And that the internal hard drive might be getting ready to go out. I hope that putting the console in energy saving mode and turning off the automatic updates fixes
the problem and that your console doesn't need repairs.

I don't believe I have instant on enabled but I do have background updates enabled for sure. Do you see my replies because I can update you in the morning when I get to doing all this stuff.

So it makes the noise while playing a game? What model console do you have? The X S or the original?

Here are a few things to consider:

1. 1. Two beeps will confirm that you have changed the mute setting. If you hear high-pitched beeps and then low-pitched beeps, the mute function is not turned on. If you hear low-pitched beeps and then high -pitched beeps, the mute function is not turned
   off.
2. 2. Check that the voice function is not muted in the Xbox Guide. To do this, press the Xbox Guide button, select Personal Settings, and then select Voice.
   

If these steps do not fix the problem, you may need to contact Xbox Customer Support about replacing your headset.
