Xbox one console is working fine, but the on/off button light is not working, other than...

Same problem here on one of my controllers. Connect it via USB and it works fine. XBOX button lights up solid like it is connected, but only XBOX Home button works and console responds like I want to turn it off but the joysticks won't move to select anything.

This can be a bit dumb, but double check this:
Open settings > accessibility > night mode > power button brightness > select customize brightness
Try moving the slider to see if that does the trick.

If the issue persist probably the led associated with this button is damaged

Hi, it really depends. You may need to get inspected the console to find if it's only the light or you need to replace the entire panel

i had this problem recently ,try this,turn on your console,connect the plug and play kit as normal your controller should light as normal to player one position,

(at this point you say the charging light doesn`t appear) then turn your console off by using the button on the console not by using the controller.

when the console is off the charging light should appear on the controller.

the other method is to continually connect and unconnect the plug at play at the controller until the light stays lit.

it may take a while but this does sometimes work.

other than that if you think it may be an update issue try clearing you cache to remove recent updates and then try again.
