Xbox One Console ID #

I called xbox support due to buying a new xbox one because the other one took a crap and would not turn on anymore. I was trying to recover an account for a gamer tag but they told me I needed the console ID number in order for them to help me. I was then
told that I needed to get this number from the console that does not work anymore!!!! Does anyone know how I can get this other than under the settings app in the old console????

If the X1 uses the same mechanism as the 360 with one licence to the Gamertag and one to the console ID, how does changing the Home Console option affect the console ID licence?

Adding my partners Xbox 360 Username to the Xbox One

If you are gold just add her account to the Xbox one using the 360 details then go to settings and add her id into family it will then grant her ID the same Gold status you have at no extra cost, All Family members on the console get the same gold status as the main ID

The console ID is only found within the Settings when the console is working. (source)

You should be able to log on to the gamertag on the new console if you have the account email and password. If you don't remember either, the
ACSR form is a good place for account recovery.

What exactly do you mean by the 'public ID'? Are you referring to the ID number for your console?

Here's a quick support link on how to find the various console IDs that may be associated with the console. Including but not limited to the Xbox's ID and the Kinects ID should you have one and need it.

You can only share Gold with one console. Your xbl id is sharing Gold which is on your account (with sons id). The xbox one must be set up as the home console for the main account with your sons id. And xbox 2 stays signed in with main account at all times.
The second one doesn't your xbl id account at all. I hope this makes sense.

I see. That's odd that they need that info. But nevertheless, my friend, for you to take the console's ID you would need the console. :/

And did you ask them why they need that particular info if it's not an issue associated with your console directly?
