Xbox One Connects via Ethernet but Stopped Connecting Over Wifi

    Hi,

I have an Xbox One that's been connected on Wifi for over 2 years and then stopped connecting to Xbox Live a few days ago. I had never opened up any ports on my router for Xbox yet it worked flawlessly with all kinds of games like GTA and COD. After scanning
the help sites, I decided to open up the following ports: Port 88 (UDP), Port 3074 (UDP and TCP), Port 53 (UDP and TCP), Port 80 (TCP), Port 500 (UDP), Port 3544 (UDP) and Port 4500 (UDP). And I made sure to reserve the IP of my Xbox on the router to make
sure that it never changes and that the ports remain open for the Xbox.

However, the Xbox is still not working under Wifi while it works fine with ethernet plugged into my cable modem. What can I do to get the Xbox One to start working again?

    :)

    Windows 10 streaming without TV?

there is a delay over wifi but it works. you can speed things up by connecting your xbox and laptop via wire to your router.

Xbox One Connects via Ethernet but Stopped Connecting Over Wifi

    Hi,

I will provide you with a few steps up front, but I would also like to remind you that when you post back, to give a detailed description of any troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, so we don't keep provide you with steps that may only echo back.

Appreciate if you could describe in more detail, what exactly it is that doesn't work, by connecting your Xbox One with your wireless connection type. For example, is your console able to detect the wireless network name (SSID) of your WLAN, or not? Are you
able to connect your console to your WLAN, but unable to reach to the Internet side, or even Live network? Or is it that when you try to connect, nothing happens, even if you try to reset your network settings.

If you have a dual band router (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), and where you might force your console to connect to the 5 GHz rf band, try connect over 2.4 GHz instead.

If you console's power mode is currently set to Instant-on power mode, switch to Energy-saving power mode instead.

To keep things up to pace, I would appreciate if you could provide the make and model of your wireless router and modem (if this is not a single device).

Let us know how that goes and we'll work from there.

Every 5 minutes my Xbox disconnects from live.

Can also occur if youre using both wifi AND ethernet connections(IE your pc is connected via ethernet, xbox via wifi.)

Xbox to my Computer with only USB ports?

No but you can connect it via Ethernet cable with a cross over cable or with standard Ethernet cables with a router or Ethernet switch. The other way is connect it to your wifi.

Random game disconnects will only happen over wifi they shouldn't happen while connected via the ethernet.
