Xbox One connecting to my PC

Will I be able in the future to connect my xbox one and Win 7 PC via M/S Media Center as I can on my 360 console? Also when are they going to have a Sky App, the same as the 360?

Can not connect to xbox one using xbox app on windows 10 with a wired connection.

I want to stream my xbox one to my windows 10 pc using the xbox app. I'm using a bridged connection, connecting my pc to my xbox one with an ethernet cable and connecting my pc to the internet using wifi. The first few times it worked perfectly, however
all of the sudden when trying to connect my xbox one to my pc I get the message: "Unable to connect to your xbox one. Make sure that your console is connected to the same network as this pc". How can this be if my console and pc are connected with an ethernet
cable? My ethernet cable works fine and is plugged in correctly in my pc and xbox...

It looks like Media Center on Xbox One won't happen. But you can use the Play To feature in Windows 7/8 to play media. But no network browsing like the 360.

As for the Sky App, you'd need to ask Sky for a date, but they have suggested that it is coming, and the Now TV app is due this summer. (Link)

Another option would be to download a DLNA/Upnp app for your phone or tablet.

That should see the xbox as a player and your PC as a source. You should be able to queue up tracks from your phone and get them to play through the xbox.

I don't think you can do the custom sound track thing you could do on the 360, so to listen to your own music in game you would have to manually turn down the in game music, and snap the music player.

Should work, but it's a mess.

I don't know why so many cool 360 features have been dropped. I guess it's because they can't charge you to listen to your own songs. If you sign up for xbox music they get a fee.

 

My main grief with streaming from my pc to my 360 was it didn`t play Blu-ray and I thought this may be sorted with the Xbox one! Grr!

 

Jazza, when you use the `play to` feature, due you mean `Share with` feature and if so, how or where do I access it on the console?

 

My other idea was to plug in my pc`s HDMI cable into the tv HDMI on the console and see what happens when I change to tv on the console!

 

Jazza, found the play to option, but only on divx and not bluray titles!

 

It seems to only support certain file types, like avi at the moment. Maybe more formats will be supported in the future.
