Xbox One connected to internet but not connected to live?!

Hey everyone,

So up until yesterday I have had no issues with my Xbox one. Yesterday the only thing I did was download an update for halo 5 (6.8GB because I hadn't played in a while). Now since last night every time I get on I can't connect to live. Essentially I know
I'm connected to my internet which works perfectly on all other devices. The console says all of my connections are good and my nat type is open yet it won't seem to connect to live. So even though I am connected to the internet all my pins are blank, I cannot
retrieve messages or sync game saves and I can essentially not do anything the requires being online, even though my console says everything should be fine. At the time of downloading the halo 5 update I believe my Xbox may have already not been connecting
as even though I was able to download the update I wasn't able to see or talk to my friends who were online at the time.

I have tried resetting it and hard resetting it and have gotten no results so far. So if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Vibroplex, i did everything u said to do and it still doesnt work

 

What kind of modem and router are you using ? Certain ones have been having issues with xbox live...especially if it is a gateway from your isp ...

 

I'm using a Bob2 Modem from iinet.

 

That's a modem and a router and they have been having issues, one way to see if its your router would be to put it in "bridge mode" turning it into just a modem , then plug the xbox straight up and see how it acts...

 

Unfortunately because of where the phone lines are in my house I can't plug my xbox directly into the modem. Even after the update my xbox was still working fine until yesterday...

 

that's a strange looking router I must say , I guess you could try the things that other routers , like reset router to factory defaults , port forwarding , static ip address , change the dns servers ...some have luck with those options...

 

Router has been reset, all ports are forwarded, static ip tried, changed dns server nothing is working...

 

The only way I know to tell if its your xbox or you router is to either take the xbox somewhere else to test it (friend or family member's house) or to get a different modem to test with , lots and LOTS of connection issues lately and at least 90% are router
related , if you cant bridge it to check , I'm not sure what else you can do

 

One update and Microsoft goes and buggers up lots of people who have had absolutely no issues before. Yet they still wonder why more and more people choose to go with playstation....

 

Managed to fix it myself without it having anything to do with my modem/router:

Remove profile under 'Accounts' in settings.

Go 'Disc and Blu Ray'>'Blu Ray'>'Persistent Storage'>'Clear Persistent Storage'

Disconnect wireless under 'network settings' (if applicable)

Go offline and power cycle your console

Turn it back on, go online again and retrieve your profile.

Success.

Go 'Disc and Blu Ray'>'Blu Ray'>'Persistent Storage'>'Clear Persistent Storage'

Disconnect wireless under 'network settings' (if applicable)

Turn it back on, go online again and retrieve your profile.

@BarterBubbles11 I can confirm this works. I have had the same problem and followed this to fix the issue.
