    Xbox One Compatibility


    Friend of mine can't seem to install certain games. He is trying to install Mass Effect 1 and 2 and they refuse to install. They work fine on his Xbox 360, except he wants to stream them. Mass Effect 3 installs with no issues. He has tried a factory reset.
    Any other ideas?

    Xbox One Compatibility

    Hi shockelite! Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 are compatible with Xbox One on Backward Compatibility program. When you insert the disc, you can download the feature that will allow the game to run on Xbox One. Check that the console is connected to the Internet
    and retry to install.

    He spoke with a support technician at Xbox. They said his blu ray drive was faulty and to send it in. It's on the way now. For future reference for anyone else, he has a Xbox One S console purchased around May of 2016.

    Check out the following troubleshooting articles:


    If you purchase an Xbox 360 Game that is
    compatible with Xbox One, you will be able to access the content on the Xbox One. Unfortunately, that game is not in the backwards compatible library.
