    Xbox one Companion App streaming


    I use the Xbox companion app on my pc to stream games to my pc so that I can get game audio because I like to be in discord while I play games. As of October whenever I tried to play any backwards compatible games it pops up "(game name) can't be used
    while streaming" then it has an error code (0x87e10004) but when I put that code into the support it says that its a fake code. I just want to know why I can't stream the backwards compatible games and if its possible to fix it.

    You need to stream your console to your laptop (Has to have Windows 10) with The Xbox Console Companion app. Start the Xbox One, then start the Console companion app, then select the connect icon on the left side of the app, and your console should show,
    just select it, and select stream, that will then stream your console to your laptop.

    Hi Jos158,

    Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. I'd be happy to answer that.

    Unfortunately you cannot plug in the Xbox One into your laptop and use the laptop as a display. Also there is no app or program that would convert the HDMI port on your laptop to an input source rather than an output source.

    Your only option would be to use the game streaming through the Xbox Console Companion app. I would re over these two support articles on how to improve streaming:

    they are stopping the xbox companion from streaming they have already stopped it in the companion app and moved it fully to xbox app on pc and i suspect windows 10 version too.
