To find more information if it is first time offence its most likely 24hours which isnt appealable

If longer then that you can click on the case review

this as it will further explain how to submit a case reivew, plus allow you to see Enforcement actions on your account.

Report, block, and move on. Even though you did the right thing by reporting him, you shouldn't have retaliated by calling him whatever you did. That way only he would have been banned, and instead you're banned as well. Yes the suspension is reasonable.
