Xbox one code keeps adding space when tying it in

Ok so here's the deal. I bought fallout 4 and got fallout 3 as well So I type the code in to redeem it and get the game but as I'm typing in the code for some reason it adds '-' for some reason. For example I'm typing in (not real code just for example)
DR67W-W5H8 etc But instead of that its types DR67W-W5H-8 It types '-' automatically Sorry if I'm being a idiot and it's obvious why it's wrong but can anyone tell me why it's doing this and how I can fix it. Thanks

I dont mind adding my phone number but it annoys me when it keeps asking for it after I have entered it and the code it sends you.

Im tying to enjoy my game here, but the Xbox keeps telling me that the game Im playing is ready to play! Anyone know how to fix this?

 

All I can think of is you've typed the first dash and then it will add the next dash automatically

The dashes *-* are added automatically so you do not need to input them yourself. If you're inputting them yourself the system will count that as a character and then automatically add a dash where it thinks it's needed.

Codes are normally 16 characters long minus the dashes and should be 4 characters, dash 4 characters etc. So for example 45GD-237J-XF9N-12GJ
