Xbox One chewing through bandwidth - No downloads active.

Hi.

So, the title pretty much says it, but essentially, my Xbox One is using all of my bandwidth in terms of kbit/s. It uses about 500 kbit/s, and im unable to use anything else on the internet while its on.

The thing is, i have NOTHING downloading. Nothing in the queue that im downloading, i dont have Netflix, Crunchyroll, YouTube etc. AND i have reset my router AND the Xbox several times and it hasn't changed anything.

Please, if anyone knows something, help a fella out. Im at my wits end .. (Titanfall has a ping of over 1200.)

Xbox one console continuously accessing the Internet even when idle.

For reference , it will access the internet to update friends list and the like , but shouldn't be "chewing up bandwidth" ....maybe you should see how much it is really using...

 

extremely important question...

Anything that can be blended and sucked through a straw to save time chewing.

500kbit/s is 0,0625mb/s is a really low download speed and is just an idle speed to keep friends and tiles up to date I believe. Unless you're on a dial up connection this should not prevent you from downloading anything .

Have you been able to game online in the past ?

Please check out these steps and see if that sheds more light on the issue you're having

I thought that as well about the downloads, but regardless, i wasnt getting anything from my other devices. I figured it out though. It was my ISP going crazy at the time, and my highest download speed at that time was about 1mbit/s compared to my normal
3.5.

So thank you again. It seems to have sorted itself out

 

If it happens again you might want to check the other devices on your network to see if anything else is going on. 3.5Mb/s is pretty slow and it would not take much to eat into that bandwidth.
