    Hello. I have been having problems with my xbox one connecting to the wifi and im seeking help. I havnt found this quesntion ever so this may be the first. Ill give you the rundown of my issue. My xbox will not connect to the internet. I have two wifi
    connections at my disposal. A main and a guest connection. Both dont work. Ill type the password in for both and then am sent to the checking connection screen, it then loads a long time, then displays a error saying Incorrect IP. Ive tried so much to get
    the connection working, and i succeed on luck alone. Ive power cycled the xbox, modem, and router. Ive cleared mac address. Ive set every advanced network setting to automatic that I could. Ive removed the hdmi cable on startup. Ive software reset 3 times
    (kept games and apps). I dont know what to do. Its a constant battle to keep the console connected to the wifi. Its just my internet too. The xbox connects just fine to a hotspot. To get the xbox connected I have to do a set of random tasks such as restarting
    the xbox, signing in and out of my xbox rapidly, and then hopefully Im lucky enough to connect. If I am lucky enough to get connected I cant turn the system off, if I turn it off and then turn it on, it disconnects again. I need help to this problem. Its just
    too frustrating.

    Xbox One get stuck in checking your connection

    Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the
    console. Once it is back up and operational test the results.

    im aware, its just that restoring my console will clear my reserved space, which is separate from my save data, my reserved space will be gone forever

    Hi Trukenheim, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    In this case, we now need to reset your console keeping your games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

    Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

    Reset and keep my games & apps.
