Xbox one Chatpad no longer lighting up after controller drop.

I left my controller (with the chatpad connected) on my table and went to the kitchen. I was playing Destiny 2, and while I was away
my character was being shot, causing vibration on the controller, that led it to fall from the table... When I came back, my chatpad no longer responded. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the chatpad to the controller, but
not even the LED lights up anymore. The headset won´t pick up audio if connected through the chatpad, but it will work if connected directly to the controller. I can´t even see the chatpad (while connected) in the devices settings option. Obviously,
it won't work to write messages either. How can I know what is wrong with it and how can I repair it? It doesn´t have any visible cracks or anything that I can notice. Should I take it apart? Help, please.

Xbox One Chatpad does not work with Xbox One S Controller

I unboxed my Xbox One on August 2nd and set it up immediately.

I took my working chatpad from my old controller and plugged it into my new Xbox One S controller. It does not work.

I have updated the controller. I have updated the Xbox One console. Neither of these methods fixed the issue.

I get no prompts after plugging in the chatpad, and the controller stays on after the chatpad is plugged in. There are no lights on the chatpad and none of the buttons work. When I plug my chat pad into my old controller it works just fine.

 

Controller Stick Drift (But it's a software problem....)

Problem: My Xbox One S controller recently developed a problem where it will continue to go in one direction, either up or down, once I push that way one time on the left thumbstick. I have looked at the controller and have confirmed that it is not normal
stick drift. The thumbstick itself is nice and tight but it will continue to either go up or down without stopping.

Details: I have three controllers. A standard Xbox One controller that is 2 years old (this one belongs to a friend). A Xbox One Elite Controller that is a year old. A Xbox One S controller that is 4 months old. The first and last both have this same problem.

The problem happened to my One S controller after I bought a chatpad. When I plugged the chatpad in, my console informed me that I would have to do an update in order to use it (I updated from 2.3.2381 to 3.1.1221). After the update, my controller began
to develop the issue. Soon after, my controller would no longer recognize the chatpad.

My friend's controller, the standard Xbox One controller, had the 1.1.2228 version on it and still developed the problem when it was never connected to a chatpad. I updated his controller to the 2.3.2381 version and this did not solve the issue.

Finally, I have not updated my Xbox One Elite controller since the day I got it and it still has the 2.3.2381 software on it. I plugged the chatpad into it and the console did not prompt me to update the software (even though the settings tell me that it
has an update available). It works fine and recognizes the chatpad perfectly.

However, I'm obviously afraid to update the controller with the problems that the other two have had.

I know this is a rare issue and I spent some time on the phone with Xbox Customer Support and he suggested that I try the forums in case something had happened with Xbox One Preview Updates. Can anyone help?

Can you try connecting a the chat pad to another controller to see try to eliminate the controller as a possible cause for the chatpad issue.
