Xbox One Chatpad doesn't fit controller

I just received the Xbox One Chatpad via Amazon pre-order. I've tried attaching it to my Day One controller, Elite, and "regular" controller and can't get it to fit. If I use excessive force I'm sure the connectors will snap off. I've read similar experiences
in the reviews on Amazon.com. I'm wondering if I should return it or bring it into a Microsoft Store to check it out. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Chatpad won't fit into controller

We received a new Chatpad + headset for a gift, but the chatpad will not fit into the controller.

The XBox is XBox One S (white controller)

The Chatpad + Headset are labeled for XBox One / Windows 10 and are black.

Is it supposed to slide in easily? It certainly doesn't and without putting too much pressure does not seem to want to fit into the controller. We have already plugged the headset in directly to the controller and ran the firmware update. However, the
chatpad simply won't fit into the controller.

Chatpad won't fit XBOXOne S controller

Is the chatpad only made to fit xbox 360 controllers? It won't fit in my XBOX One S controller!

I just received mine today from Amazon and it broke the connector on my controller. I can't use any more attachments and the attachment I had worked perfectly fine until I connected Microsofts chat pad. Upon visual inspection it appears that that the jack
is out spec with the Xbox controller. It physically looks bigger than the oringinal chat headset adapter.

I ordered 2 from Amazon and they just don't fit. The product is the same one that is linked to here yet the connector doesn't align. Is there another model?

The Xbox360 Chatpad will not fit on any Xbox One controllers. In order to use a chatpad on the Xbox One controllers you will have to buy the Xbox One version of it

This is just very bad design and quality. Official accessory doesn't fit and destroys the hardware!

My controller died as swell on the attempt to connect the chatpad.

I tried my chatpad on my Controllers (Elite, regular, and the same white one you showed) and it fits on all of them.

The photos are great to show the equipment, but it didn't really show the connection issue.

When you say doesn't fit, is it tough to push it on and get it to click in? Do the ports not line up?

I do know the first several times I tried to connect a chatpad to any of the controllers it was tough. I had to line up the connectors and push hard to get it connected. Almost felt like I was going to break it (or the controller buttons), but I made sure
the ports all lined up when I would connect it. I had the same issue with the chatpad for the 360.

Now that the chatpad has been on a controller for a while, it's much easier to move it from one controller to the next.

You may have to wiggle the chatpad around to be sure that it's properly aligned to get it to fit onto your Xbox One S controller. Be sure that the prongs and such are aligned correctly and then try wiggling things to see if you can get it to pop on. Are
you able to try your Xbox One chatpad on a different Xbox One controller? Preferably not an Xbox One S version. If you don't have one available, you could bring your chatpad to a local retailer and ask if you can try it there.
