  1. Xbox One Chatpad collaboration

So I've been sitting on this idea for a while now, and I have decided to put it out there for the rest of you guys(and girls!) in the Xbox community to brainstorm on this. We might even make something awesome! So without further delay. Here is my pitch.
The Xbox One needs a chatpad. I don't think anyone can disagree with that statement. The problem is there is not one out yet, and I have not found any legitimate information on the subject. So I've been doing a little bit of my own thinking on the matter,
and I've come up with what I feel is a good starting point for public discussion. If you are familiar with the 360 chatpad, then you know that it attached to the bottom of the controller, and used the controller as its power source. This is the fist difference
between the 360 chatpad and this product. Since the controls for the mic are now located at the bottom of the controller, the original chatpad could not be placed there now. Which brings me to my first point. I see the Xbox One chatpad being a separate device.
Wireless communication. Rechargable by micro USB(same as the controllers) It could also be able to preform basic controller functions. (Up, Down, Left, Right, A,B,X,Y, Start, and Select. The main point for that is so a person could pick up just the chatpad
and navigate the Xbox Home and get where they want to be without the need of voice commands, kinect gestures, or picking up the regular controller. Next point, is the fact that running your T.V. through your Xbox One is awesome, and doing so almost makes your
old T.V. remote obsolete. Almost. There are a few things you still cannot do without picking up your old T.V. remote. For me, the most common problem I found was Volume Control. I either have to Say "Xbox, Volume(Up/Down)" which also only goes in increments
of 3(for my tv), or I have pick up the old tv remote to adjust the volume. Then there is the fact that most universal remotes can communicate with each device individualy, While the chatpad wouldn't actually communicate with all your other devices, it could
go through the xbox to the device for things like individual power and volume control. That, I see as being difficult to do though. My last point. My family members that watch tv through the xbox are not familiar with the Xbox One controller, or its button
layout. If the body design of the chatpad could mimic that of a tv remote, and if you could make it more comfortable for the regular person to pick up a device and just sit down and watch tv. It could become commonplace in peoples home's. My last little bit
of words before I see what the rest of you think. While all of that sounds like alot, I also see it being priced relatively high if it ever actually happens. My last thought is that it would be shipped in a package along with the same charge cable that comes
in the Xbox One Play and Charge kits. Price? With all that good stuff listed above, maybe 39.99$-49.99$ Well, there you have it. I'm honestly excited to see what everyone else thinks. Maybe we could even see this idea come to fruition.

    :)

    Chatpad and software collaboration.

The main thing I've noticed about Xbox One, and PS4 is they both see what the other has that they don't, then create something equivalent to the opposing system. Well PS4 has a 3rd party chatpad already. I have a suggestion. Whenever the Chatpad peripheral
comes out or is created. I'm sure enough people have asked for it. I miss it it's crucial. What would be cool is if there was a way even double tapping the Xbox nav. button to bring up the direction pad cues, to bring up a small semi transparent chat window
horizontally across the screen, without shrinkin' your game screen.

For any form of typing can we get some form of predictive text based around the words we commonly use? Cellphones have it, tablets, PS4, but above the typing box for any message being typed out, there's SO much room for it that is currently unused space.

  5. Yes, the xbox one smartglass app can handle most navigation and other functions that the aforementioned chatpad would be able to do. However, the xbox DOES need a "controller attatched" chatpad for all the MMO style games where you are playing with more
then just a few people. Games like Destiny, Diablo 3, and ESO wont feel right without a quick way to chat with other players that doesnt require me to put down my controller for another device. FPS games and faster paced games with small online multiplayer
can get away with only having voice chat, but open world style MMOs that are relatively slow paced, group communication oriented, and rely on any sort of player selling/trading need to have built in chat functionality.

The answer is simple... we want a freaking chat pad attach on the xbox one controller, just like the 360 does!!! I'm not an engineer, but I'm sure there is a way to do it... c'mon Spencer we WANT that device!!!

We definitely need an attachable chat pad. Am getting sick of having to start up Smartglass on my slow phone, and would prefer to have my 'controls' all in one bundle.

My suggestions for the chat pad would be to include a row of shortcut buttons, with functions such as recording a game clip when you press the button or opening Xbox Snap, like the chat/IM button on the 360's chatpad. More along this idea would be to have
programmable buttons that when pressed, will perform certain commands, eg: "Xbox, open (game/app name here)", or "Xbox, record that." You get to choose what each of these buttons will do. It'd be really neat being able to press a button on the chat pad that
opens up messages or your party, or record a game clip without having to scream at my Kinect.

Otherwise, I would love if the same format as the 360's chat pad was used, with the green and orange "shift" keys that gave access to symbols and special characters. Hopefully Microsoft will release a wireless headset soon enough, so that chat pad + mic
    can be used simultaneously.

Along with the traditional chat pad attached to the controller, they can also make a new media remote with the chat pad either on the opposite side of the remote or flip lid with chat pad inside…that way when you are watching tv you don’t actually have to
use the x1 controller and waste your controller battery, either to surf channels, or send a message via live to your buddies. Also it would be easier to change the channels say from channel 1 to channel 111. Don’t think microsoft thought that over. Channel
up and down does not actually work when one has about 1000 channels on their cable box, and some people like myself (Channel Surfers) does not always want to yell at the x1 to change from channel to channel. It is very exhausting. Found myself relying on
    my cable remote.

I don’t know about most of you guys, but I have a fairly decent phone and to leave smartglass on constantly, it drains my phone battery. Would rather the media remote instead of pre-occupying my phone all of the time.
