    I just bought a Microsoft xbox one chatpad for my xbox one s. Visually it appeared to fit, but was extremely difficult to attach. Many web posts indicated that it is indeed initally a very tight fit. The posters said to vary the angle and keep trying
    until it snapped into place. I tried this and the chatpad eventually snapped on. I went to turn on the xbox with the controller, but there was no response from the controller. I removed the chatpad and looked at the connector on the controller. The chatpad
    had pushed the controller connector all the way in and broke the controller. Is there any recourse for me? I've had my Xbox one for less than 7 weeks.

    Is the chatpad only made to fit xbox 360 controllers? It won't fit in my XBOX One S controller!

    Take it back to the store and exchange it. That's what I would do and not really sure what else you can do to be honest.

    This is just very bad design and quality. Official accessory doesn't fit and destroys the hardware!

    My controller died as swell on the attempt to connect the chatpad.

    Okay did a little measuring while waiting for a response... so far it looks like the issue is that whatever connector is at the bottom of the XBOX ONE S controller... it is not meant for whatever is on the connector of my XBOX ONE Chatpad (the chatpad is
    indeed the official microsoft one).

    Its like the connector for the XBOX ONE S controller is meant for something a little wider... that's why it feels like when I try to plug in the chatpad something is pushing back... the flat 'slab' type thing inside the connector is slightly wider than what
    is on the chatpad... at least that's what I seem to find with my controller... I'm not speaking for all the other XBOX ONE S controllers or chatpads...

    I have a headset adapter that I will try now... I was hoping to avoid opening the package unless I really needed it... but here goes... :/
