Xbox one chatpad audio not working

Hi, need help. My son has Xbox one and uses a chatpad with an Xbox one headset. The chatpad audio (via a headset) has just stopped working. Can barely hear the audio and it just has a scrambling sound. If I unplug the chatpad and connect headset to controller
the audio works fine but if I reconnect the chatpad then headset the scrambling sound comes back. His console is update, I’ve updated the controller and chatpad but it’s still not working. Anyone know how this can be fixed? The chatpad is only a few months

Xbox One Chatpad suddenly stopped working

I purchased the Chatpad in January 2018, and it was working fine for a bit. All of a sudden the mic will not acknowledge me talking in Party Chat. If I plug headset directly into a xbox controller's 3mm jack, the mic seems to work fine. However, plug
it into the Chatpad's 3mm jack, and absolutely nothing. It does not work at all in Audio -> Stereo mode. I only get audio from the rest of the party if I use Audio -- Microsoft Sonic.

More details:

1. I am using an original Xbox One controller without the 3mm jack. That's the one the chatpad 3mm jack is no longer working with. Typing on the keypad works just fine. Mic does not work; and I cannot hear the Party.

2. I borrowed a friend's new Xbox One controller with a 3mm jack. That is the one where the mic only picks up from directly plugging in the headset to the controller. When using the chatpad, the keypad works fine; the mic does not pick up; and I am able
to hear the Party.

Chatpad stops game audio

My turtle beach headphones don't seem to work with my chatpad connected - i get chat audio but no game audio.

They work perfectly without the chatpad attached.

I have followed the troubleshooting on All About the Xbox One Chatpad with no success.

I have made sure that the game volume is turned up both on the console and chatpad.

Is this an issue that anyone else has had? is there a Fix? or do I have to unplug my headphones and plug in the chatpad anytime I want to type (very annoying)? or is my chatpad faulty?

If it is that one "Please note that for the original XB1 controller audio and chat will not be transmitted as that controller required an adapter to use both audio and chat, however the chatpad keyboard functions will still work with this controller"

Have you tried simply plugging your headset in to see if you can get it to work.

I'm glad im not the only one with this problem.. I got my elite 2 today and its not working with my chatpad. Is not only the audio but is like it won't recognize the chatpad at all. Notbing works not even to type this is annoying bc I use my chatpad frequently....
is noy my chatpad bc i tried it on my other controllers and even my elite series 1 and it works fine... I didn't pay almost 200 dollars for the new controller not to let me use my accessories.

Turn on your Xbox One Controller.

Insert the chatpad into the controller.

The orange blinking light means it needs an update, it says "You must update both your Xbox One console and your Xbox One Controller for the Xbox One Chatpad to work correctly."

Since your using it with your PC, attach a micro usb cable, run a update scan for Windows & Microsoft updates, and make sure all drivers are installed.

The Xbox360 Chatpad will not fit on any Xbox One controllers. In order to use a chatpad on the Xbox One controllers you will have to buy the Xbox One version of it
