    Xbox One Chat Pad. Xbox doesn't recognize the device or that it is connected.


    After connecting it to my controller, it doesn't recognize that it is connected. As such, no functionality works.

    I tried updating my console to the latest revision. I tried updating my controller to the latest revision. I tried restarting the Xbox in every possible configuration (no attached, attached, controller off, controller on, etc).

    Nothing seems to help and it continues to not work. Need help troubleshooting or getting a replacement.

    Hey there ms076x.

    Just to clarify, does your PC not detect your Xbox One controller while the chat pad is connected or has it stopped detecting it completely? If it's only the chat pad, do you possibly have a friend with a chat pad you can test to see if there's any change?

    My apologies for the delay in a response. Work was murder this week.

    To answer your question:

    The controller works fine, just the Chat pad does not work.

    HOWEVER, I discovered after making this post that neither the chat pad nor the stereo audio adapter works with Windows via Bluetooth.

    Unless I am misunderstanding everything I am reading, it will work either with a cable, or with the wireless USB "dongle", but not Bluetooth.

    Under the

    section:

    • Bluetooth does not support any attachments, such as headsets, chatpads, or the Xbox Stereo Adapter.

    So my new question is, can anyone verify that the Chat pad will, in fact, work with the
    Wireless USB "dongle":

    Specifically through Steam Link is what I am wondering but also just Windows 10.

    I connected the XBOX ONE wireless controller to my Windows 10 laptop via USB connection, but it is not recognized.

    It vibrates when connected, and when you press the X button on the center of the pad, the button lights up, but it is not recognized.

    When I went into Device Manager,

    Unknown USB device (request device descriptor failed)

    in one's character

    'The device has stopped because this device has reported a problem. (Code 43)

    Request to USB device descriptor failed.'

    It says.

    + Drivers are up to date with the latest updates.

    How can I use the pad on my PC?

    Hi Oskayra,

    I've used the same cable. On multiple devices that would accept other devices but the Xbox one x.

    A Nintendo switch is connected successfully with a cable to the tv. I've switched it to the Xbox one x but the tv doesn't recognize a signal.
