Xbox One Chat mic not working.---Help us All Out..PLease

Yet Another thread about the Xbox Headset stopping working..

I was playing GTA5 and was in Party chat with a friend playing a different game..Another person joined the party chat and all was working fine..

Then my headset started acting funny , game chat and party chat were mixed coming from the tv….

My headset mic isn't working when I try to join/start a party…If I unplug then the kinnect picks up the voice….

I have gone out and wasted £ buying another Brand New Headset like a MUG, to have the same problem..!!!!

I have tried hard re-start...

Going into GTA5- then trying to switch between game and party chat..-Still nothing

Mic isn't muted,

Skype -check also says mic not working.

I am also on the Preview program ( Hope thats not what is glitching it for all of us)

Come on Microsoft, lots of threads saying there is a MAJOR problem happening to lots of us, with no Firm help saying what the problem is / or how to fix it..

To anyone else reading this DON'T THINK A NEW HEADSET WILL HELP, as didn't with me..But you might get lucky.

When you're in party chat and you disconnect the mic, does the green circle still stay lit?

 

my xbox mic is broken too, 6 days ago my wired mic was acting weird, sometimes when i moved it, i could'nt hear people talking. 6 days later, I can't even talk into the mic. whenever I click the volume up button it doesnt make the noise when you turn up
the volume maxed out. come on microsoft do something!

 

The circle stays when I disconnect my Mic from the controller (Can't remember if thats normal)..But only flashes when it hears me on the kinnect…

Tried going into different games ,

Re-starts etc again.

Router.

Unplug everything and prey that it will work ..

Any suggestions very welcomed..

I thought this was a Support forum.? The only support seems other shoulders to cry on who are in the same boat..

Where is the help from The Support Team..?

For everybody having issues - what is your NAT set to? Moderate NAT will not work for some people and they won't be able to hear you. Once your NAT is OPEN however you won't have any issues. I had the same one until I fixed it. So you may want to try to
open NAT up and see what kind of results you get.

Unfortunately Alariaria this has not worked for me. I have tried many things discussed here and in three chat sessions with customer service reps. I have tried clearing alternate mac address, hard resets, clearing persistent storage. Clearing and Restoring
my account from the system. Purchasing new mic and controller. Nothing works. Thankfully my latest service rep said that he would be contacting the head engineer with this issue and that I should wait for 18-72 hours. He also said I could replace the console,
but I've had bad experiences in the past with sending a 360 for repair and it arriving very late. I chose to wait and see if they patch this.

It really is a shame though that no service rep has assuaged any fears on this forum though. If only the employees servicing these forums were as good as customer service.

 

To clarify my issue for comparison. I can hear other people with the Xbox One Chat Headset. They cannot hear me. In addition the mic icon in the Xbox Live Party Chat Menu is ALWAYS ON regardless of whether or not the mic is plugged in or the controller is
on or off. The mic icon is ALWAYS ON.

 

I have come back to say that I returned the New headset and asked for another in the shop, as i explained what was happening to them.

They said we highly doubt its an XBOX problem , more due to the fact that the headsets are disposable (His words..)

They tried to sell me an expensive headset, but I said whats the point if its not going to work..

Long and short---NEW HEADSET TODAY WORKS. Old headset broken , and got unlucky with a broken one in-between..

I'm glad yours is sorted, I've had the exact same issue as of this evening, and I've gone out and bought a new one to no avail. MS want to send me a new one, I guess we'll see if that works.

Far to many issues with my one whilst I've had it. Really takes the fun out of it.

 

When you went out and got the new one what was it?

 

Just another Microsoft Headset, as the salesman in Game quoted (Disposable)..

As this is My 3 rd headset I have had since launch… 4th being the broken one from the packet..

It could be the controller, as I have also been having trouble with the Mic..And thought i had fixed it by buying a new headset, didn't work..Biught another and it worked ..

Until today, I tried swapping the headset into my spare controller to play, and I'm having the same problem with the mic not working..

Its not the headset, but the controller, so if possible check another controller with your headset to see if that works..

My bloody Kinnect now says its Unplugged when its not..(And my friend has had the same problem at the same time.)

Seems this week all I have had is problem after problem with the Xbox 1

Not sure if this weeks updates have anything to do with the kinnect issues..

My xbxo wouldn't even turn on just now when holding the button..

Starting to get to me..

Going to try and return xbox + Hardware for a total swap, as something is fishy
