Xbox One Chat headset stopped working

I have had two Xbox One mic's break within the last month, which sounds bad but I'm sure it's not a problem that I caused. One headset is 41 weeks old the other is about maybe three to four months. The first one that broke was just two weeks ago and I was
in the party with a friend. Suddenly, he stops responding to me and after about 10 minutes leaves the party by then I had checked and made sure that the mic was working and that nobody/nothing was muted. I checked in the party that to make sure the mic was
working but it wasn't allowing me to talk. i unplugged it and plugged it back in and all that but it still didn't work. i grabbed a different controller and even tried on another Xbox so i just used the newer headset instead of looking into the problem.

just two weeks later my other mic did the same exact thing so now I was really mad. I started looking around as to why it did this and I even went through the troubleshooting on the Microsoft website. Nothing has worked its only been about four days since
my last mic broke but I still have looked almost everywhere. Please help I really would rather not buy a whole new headset.

Using kinect for voice and stereo headset at the same time

Hey guys,

Just moved to Peru a few weeks ago, brought along my Xbox One.

Stereo headset i have has stopped working (right headphone stopped working and mic)

Is it possible to use the headset for sound from party chat and the kinect for voice at the same time? I would like to avoid hearing party chat over the tv. I've tried just plugging it in and when it's plugged in the kinect stops picking up my voice.

XBox One Chat issue, cant hear others in party audio nor can they hear me.

I went out and bought a brand new controller and after about 20min the headset chat audio stopped working so it's not the controllers.

Just a heads up, I moved your thread out of community discussion to the proper Xbox One support forum.

I have a few questions that will help us narrow down the issue:

1. Have you
   updated your Xbox One controllers?
2. When in a party, do you receive any network limitation errors such as a white 'X' by your gamertag?
   
3. When you mentioned you have tried troubleshooting, did you follow the steps on our
   
   Xbox One Headset Trouleshooter?

Go over those pages and make sure you have updated your controllers and have followed each step on our troubleshooting page. Post back and let us know the results!

Thank you for moving it to the proper forum. I actually wanted to make sure the problem wasn't that my controller was not up to date before i wanted to post anything. Updating didn't help at all but at least it's updated. Sometimes when i'm in a party alone
it will show the 'X' but it has never showed it while there was people in my party. When i mentioned the troubleshooting i did mean the Xbox One Headset Troubleshooter. Once again thanks for the suggestions and if you have anymore that'd be cool!

Do you happen to have a buddy or anyone that can lend you a chat headset to try? I'd like to narrow the issue down further and see if it is the headset or a network limitation since you mentioned that you have seen that white X.

To get a head start, let's run the Xbox Live Connection Test. Follow the steps below to do that:

• Press the Menu button on your Xbox One controller and select 'Settings'.
  
• In the Settings menu, select 'Network'.
• Select 'Test multiplayer connection' and post back any errors or messages you may see.
  

Post back if you're able to try a separate headset and let us know how the multiplayer connection test goes!

 

I was able to get a friend to let me use thier headset a couple of days.The multiplayer connection says "It's all good".

 

Cool thanks for the info! If your buddies headset worked just fine for the couple days you used it, I would recommend replacement at this point.
