Xbox One Chat Headset doesn't work

2 days ago I could not talk on my headset, but I could still hear people talk. Today however, I cannot hear or talk and above my tag in a party is an "!" that states someone like there is no readable headset. Go to settings to fix. Gong to settings fixes
nothing though. I'm guessing off the top of my head my mic is broken. This is frustrating because of how flimsy it is ( I always put it up on the shelf after use) and yet it broke after 6 months of use. I have already fooled around with party settings and
using another controller, but if I am wrong and it is not broken can someone please assist me.

Xbox One Stereo Headset via Windows 10 app

So I am attempting to stream my Xbox One to my laptop (Which works perfectly <3) But I am having trouble getting my Stereo Headset to pickup sound and the mic to chat. It works perfectly fine on my Xbox One but the app doesn't let the sound go through the
headset.

Any tips?

Microphones on both of my headsets not working since this week's update

I can't hear anybody through my TB XO One headset, but they can hear me. Game chat is fine, but in party chat it doesn't work. It shows me speaking when I speak, and my friends tell me they can hear me, and if I unplug the headset, I can hear people speaking
through the TV speakers.

The fact that game chat still works proves that it's Microsoft's software, not my headset, adapter, Xbox or controller.

There has to be design flaw in these headsets. one good pull on the cord on the button end of the headset and something with the wires happens. I wiggled mine around and for a brief second it worked. MS should really look into this find a solution. cause
if it's this easy to break then...well...might wanna rethink the headsets and try to design them for everyday use. I had zero problems with my 360 headset and I expected zero problems from xbox 1. dissapointed.

Does the headset work on Xbox One Party chat (i.e. do you see a circle around your gamerpic in the party chat on Xbox One)?

Are only Backwards compatible games affected? If so, it might be that the Astro A50 base station acts as a USB microphone, which doesn't work as Chat microphone on the Xbox 360.

You might have to contact the Astro A50 support for information on how to use that headset on backwards compatible titles.

Yeah it works on the Xbox One party chat but yeah that's what i was thinking i might just have to get a old Xbox One chat headset for it to work.

Here is how I understand the whole headset compatability works (maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong):

GAME AUDIO

If your headset gets the game audio via a box linked to your gaming machine via optic audio out - this audio will continue to work as designed, as the xbox One has optic out as well.

CHAT AUDIO

If your headset gets the chat audio via a direct bluetooth wireless link to the xbox360 machine - then this headset will not work with chat audio on the xbox One.

If your headset gets the chat audio wireless via a bluetooth puck that plugs into the 360 controller (not a direct wireless link to the gaming machine) -then this may work with the xbox One depending on how the forthcoming adapter works with next gen controllers.

If your headset gets the chat audio via a cable directly connected to your xbox360 controller - then this may work on the xbox One depending on how the upcoming adapter works with the xbox One controller.

There are currently no bluetooth headsets available for Xbox One. There are a number of wireless headset options on the market though. The Xbox 360 Wireless chat headset would not work with it.
