Xbox one chat adapter problem

i just recently bought a xbox one chat adapter for my wireless astro a50. I've updated my controller as instructed but my chat adapter mute button just stays lit. Is the adapter defective already? i tried it on both of my controllers. the mute button just
stays lit. does anyone have the same problem? or a solution to the problem.

Turtle Beach x42 Chat not working.

I have a x42 using it on the Xbox One with chat adapter and it was working fine untill a few weeks ago, I thought the problem was with the adapter or the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cord but after purchasing a new xbox one chat adapter the problem still is there. The
problem is sometimes there is no chat at all, the xbox sees that I have a headset but nothing, or sometime I can hear others but they can't hear me or vice verses. I am in the xbox preview system so I am using a beta firmware on xbox. Even if I can hear myself
and the xbox party chat ring is lighting up I cant get the xbox one adapter to do any thing.

That really sounds like a hardware problem, and as such, it appears that you will have get the adapter replaced. Since the problem was repeated on two different controllers, that strongly suggests to me that it is a problem is with the adapter. Sorry I
don't have a better and immediate solution for you.

I have had a similar problem my headset adapter stopped working all together. I've tried everything.

 

I have this same exact problem i dropped my controller and ever since then this has been happening so i think its the adapter
