Xbox one chat adapter doesnt work

Hey, i have the playstation gold headset and i cant get it to work. i bought the chat adapter but when i plug it with the headphones i cant adjust the setting in the settings app. but when i connect it without adapter i can but then i dont have mic working,
is there any fix for that? i updated everything i could and tried on another controller as well

Opinions regarding headsets.

The Hyperx Cloud 2's look like they are very good for the money, but having to go into settings just to mute my mic or change volumes isn't the best. and i hate the adapter for xbox one, confuses the shit out of me. Il be adjusting and then my party chat is silent lol. They look like they need an adapter even though they have a volume adjuster on the cable. Seems it doesnt work with xbox.

 

Xbox One Headset Adapter

Godless what worked for me is I had to use the Xbox adapter that came with the Steelseries headset with the adapter. The turtle beach chat cable does not work with the steelseries. It works fine with my px5 connected to the adapted but for some reason
the turtle beach chat cable doesnt work with steelseries h wireless.
