XBox One Charge and Play Kit - Charging Indicator doesn't turn on

Hello,

I recently purchased a charge and play kit for my XBox One. After installing the battery and plugging the controller into the USB cable, the indicator light doesn't turn on. There is no visible corrosion in the controller, and it works fine with normal batteries. When
I use the same cord and battery in another controller, the light turns orange.

I suspect the controller might be defective, but wondered if anyone could help before I file a warranty claim. Could someone offer assistance?

Controller and battery packs?

I see some people buying the extra battery packs and/or controller charging stations.

I have some Sony AA rechargeable batteries I use for my remote controls and have 4 extras
I can just charge up and top off.

Is this about the same as what that stuff does? I have not really seen much about charging the controller.Click to expand...

the xbox charging kit/cable is a full kit similar to the 360. its a battery pack(hard plastic insert) not 2 batteries(insert).. its an actually power pack you insert. you use the cable(6ft) as a cord in charging system. the ord itself goes in the left side(your left with you facing system from front) of the system. once connected th part that goes into the controller has a white led/light that indicates its connected. it may turn an orange color first to indicate its charging.

i play with my controller plugged in the charging/port so i cant say how long the battery life would be off the charger or on batteries)

Not via a play and charge kit. The play and charge kit simply charges the gamepad it doesn't turn it into a wired controller.

.....and to add one other thing.....the first night I tried charging the battery pack with the play and charge kit black cable, it never turned white. It perpetually indicated orange.
