Xbox One Challenges

You know what challenges are don't you? If not, then I'll tell you: it's something that's usually very hard to do! Specifically though, this thread is about Xbox One challenges - and they are specific game-based tasks that you can complete similar to an
achievement, but instead of getting a higher gamerscore, you MIGHT get an in-game bonus (specific to each game); they are also usually time-sensitive.

The reason I'm creating this thread is to not only discuss the concept of challenges themselves (since I haven't seen very much discussion regarding them in the first place) and what you may think about them, but to discuss the specific challenges themselves
that may arise from time to time and from game to game. Since they are time sensitive and ever-changing, this thread may for all intents and purposes be relevant forever. Mwahahahahaha!!! *Ahem* Sorry...

I am excited because today is Halloween. Happy Halloween by the way! What makes me even more excited, for no particular reason, is that there are Halloween challenges out there! For example, today and today only, I can play "Night on Bald Mountain" on Fantasia:
Music Evolved to complete a challenge. I can't wait to do it, since it's a perfect song for the holiday (the original Fantasia featured the devil and other vile creatures dancing over an old village during the dead of night to this tune). There is an in-game
award available too, but since I have yet to complete the challenge, I don't yet know what that will be - that alone makes me somewhat excited to try it.

 

i have been chasing this 1.5 billion OD kills on Sunset, but it seems am doing something wrong as i don't see my kills adding up, do they only add up if your playing chaos squad?

Btw i like those challenges, and their rewards especially in FH2 and SSOD

 

I don't really pay attention to them. A lot of challenges just unlock and that's it. To me, that is boring and pointless. At least achievements add to your gamescore, but in the grand scheme of things they are sort of pointless too.

I think they should all give an in-game reward or an avatar item to make them worthwhile. If you unlock them you want to show them off just like achievements. Maybe they can have a number of challenges unlocked next to your gamerscore to make people want
to unlock them or care about them.

 

Personally don't give a rip about challenges.

Just Dance 2015 has a Mashup challenge ending Halloween night; almost done with that one.

Fantasia:Music Evolved has one to play Night on Bald Mountain before Halloween ends, mentioned above.

That's all I know. I'm not sure if you even get anything for these things.

 

Just a headsup - both deadlined challenges for Fantasia and Just Dance 2015 are tied to GMT, regardless of your location. I missed out on the Fantasia one with several hours of the day left, and in Just Dance 2015 it had already starting recording stats
for November and had wrapped up my totals for October.

Just something to keep in mind for other challenges with deadlines.

 

@Wanorios did you read the challenge description? Its a community challenge, when the 2 weeks is up Insomniac/MS will add up the total and announce if the community completed the challenge.

 

Too bad you missed out on the Fantasia one Steve; I did it early for the very reason that you mentioned and earned myself a new background featuring

this guy.

Yeah I have to agree with @Brand I don't really find the challenges with going after with no points attached to them. If they involved some special gamerpics as a reward then I'd pay more attention.

 

Well, as I already mentioned, like actual achievements, they can still count towards awesome backgrounds, so there's one benefit right there.
