Xbox one cd tray makes grinding sound when ejecting cd

Thanks but no disks are damaged I think. I dont know where the sound is coming from though.

If you are sure its coming from console I would contact support as any disk been damaged good luck mate

It's definitely the disc because the noise stops when I eject the tray. It's hard to know whether ejecting the disc before shutting down makes any difference because the problem is so intermittent, but the volume of noise seems unlikely to be coming from
the fan - it's *really* loud. It sounds like one of those old 40x or 50x CD-ROM drives they used to put in PCs.

when powered off, tap the eject button, the console will power up and the tray will open, place the burnt cd in with the update and it should detect it

Thanks, I was about to take a pic of the front of my Xbox to copy here and prove there was no button. My Xbox is white and the button is totally invisible, it blends in perfectly with the slot. I did not see it until I got close with a flashlight and even
then I only saw it because I knew exactly where to look and the triangle glinted in the flashlight beam.

The existence of this button is not mentioned in the tiny pamphlet that comes with the Xbox.
