    Xbox One causing internet lag


    Hello everyone, I am having a problem with my brothers Xbox. So my brother plays Xbox quite often, he will play from about 2:30pm when he gets home from school until around 10:30pm, this is straight through, he does not take any breaks or turn off his
    xbox during this time. I noticed that about an hour into his gaming our internet will start lagging like crazy. I get around 200ms on EU servers, I am from South Africa, but whenever he starts playing my ping will jump up to around 700+ this includes my brothers
    ping, my internet will also get extremely slow making it impossible for me to work or browse the internet. All of our connections is with Lan cables and also whenever I play on my Xbox and he is not here I never get this problem, it seems to be only his that
    causes this problem. I found a small fix that seems to help the issue but only for about an hour or so, I would go to his blue ray options and clear persistent storage, restart the Xbox and it will be fine for a bit. The games he plays are Call of Duty: Modern
    Warfare, Minecraft, Fortnite, Apex Legends, Rainbow 6 Siege, GTA V and sometimes Monster Hunter. I play a lot of the same games as he does and as I said I never have any problems as long as he is not here and his Xbox is off. I understand I could keep doing
    the small fix that I mentioned but he does get annoyed that every 30 minutes - 1 hour I have to ask him to re clear and restart his Xbox. Our internet speed is also 4mbps up/down. I will appreciate all the help I can get and if any more information is needed

    Full hard drive does not cause lag. Bad internet connections with one or more players causes lag.

    Unfortunately, about the only thing you can do to eliminate the problem is increase the bandwidth of your Internet service.

    have your neigbor reset thier modem and router.... Plus having internet like that with a wireless xbox can cause lag

    Nightsfalls: Lag is caused by internet connection, it's not a move someone intentionally does.
