    XBOX One Cant See My SSD


    Hi Guys,

    Ive called Xbox Support but they havent been able to help so wanted to reach out to the community to see if anyone else has had the same issue.

    I bought a Crucial 276gb SSD to connect to my Xbox One around a month ago. All was initially fine, however, on Saturday I started getting a message saying that the Xbox cant see my external storage and that I needed a USB 3.0, which was what I had.

    I tried formatting the SSD on my laptop but got the same message.

    Im starting to think this might be an issue with the cable rather than console or SSD. Can anyone advise please?

    SSD drive on XBOX One X

    I have the same problem. The xbox one x finds the SSD and I can see in the games & apps menu that a big part of the SSD is full of data, but the games doesn't show.

    In addition to this, the wireless network connection stops working when I hook the SSD up with one or the other of the USB ports in the back of the xbox one x.

    It works just fine on my old xbox one.

    Does USB3.0 of Xbox One support UASP?

    So i guess with ssd the xbox one is giving max 200 mb read? that sucks was going to buy a ssd for my xbox one but now in doubts..

    Are you using this SSD with an enclosure, or does this SSD already have an external USB enclosure? If possible, I recommend trying a different USB 3.0 cable along with a different enclosure to troubleshoot the issue on your Xbox One console.

    Additionally, try checking 'Storage' settings within the Xbox One System Settings to see if the storage appears on that screen. If you do see it on that screen, try formatting for 'Games and apps' from there and let us know how it goes!

    and just think, with all the writing to those ssd's it won't be long before they degrade and become useless, just think about the one inside the xbox that is not easy to change. ssd's are still finite in the amount of writes and games in excess of 100gb being constantly moved and written back to the ssd will finish it off pretty quick.

    in my line of work i see ssd's failing all the time, be it standard ssd, m.2 even the latest revisions of m.2, well before they should do.
