Xbox One can't read media from USB

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right area. My Xbox One can't seem to read anything off of a USB flash drive, doesn't matter which port, I've tried them all. It used to work fine, it still notifies me when I plug in the USB but when I go to view the
files, there is nothing there. I have tried multiple flash drives and I have the same problem with all of them. I have also tried these flash drives on my roommates Xbox One and his Xbox is able to read them just fine. Appreciate the feedback, sorry if this
is posted in the wrong area.

Bring Windows Media Center Back!

They now have a Media Player app that will read items either from a USB or your computer. Please search the App Store for the Media Player app and install it.

The information is out there and yes you can use a USB thumbdrive.

If you have a USB 3.0 external drive that has a capacity of 256 GB or more, you can use it to store games and apps. Or, you can use the drive to store media.

You can play media from a USB 1.0, 2.0, or 3.0 removable drive. USB 1.0 and 2.0 drives will automatically be treated as media drives.

How can I stream content from my Mac?
To share from a Mac computer, you have to use a third-party streaming solution. Be aware that Microsoft does not support third-party streaming solutions, so you'll have to contact that product's manufacturer if you need support.

Have you tried all three USB ports on the console? If not, give them all a try and see if it is just one port acting up or the console as a whole.

From what I've read, you should be able to use the 3.0 and the copy/move function with the 360 to get the media onto the drive, which should then work on the Xbox One.

The Xbox One won't recognize the USB 2.0 drive - it's not compatible.

Thanks, unfortunately I’ve tried all the troubleshooting options and nothing has worked.

I don’t have an issue accessing the 2tb drive that I have formated and use for games, just all other attempts to access media from various usb devices, including 3.0

The xbox recognises that the device is there, but it can’t read anything from the drives via any of the media reading apps.
