Xbox one can't play games offline.

Please Microsoft please fix this soon, I don't have Internet but I have games that I bought saved to my system and when I go to play them I get a message saying I need to connect to the Internet and go make it my home xbox. That's been done multiple times
when I get to internet. But when I get back home I'm greater with the same unfortunate message. Please fix!!!!!

Backwards compatible games offline

Apparently you can't play 360 games offline on xbox one. Even though I was able to do so not even last year. It says to set that Xbox to your home Xbox and if it's not the home Xbox you can't even set it offline. Bravo Microsoft, bravo.

Like Genchy said, check these settings.

A friend of mine is playing offline at the moment until his new broadband is installed.

Mind you, he has brought his console to my house when he gets a new game to do any updates etc

And he doesn't get achievements offline but I believe any he's earned will pop once he connects.

Like Genchy said setting it offline before you get back home should do the trick. If you purchased any digital games on that console they should be accessible offline.

No, you have to go to settings and under the my xbox tab set the xbox to your home console.... must be online to do it

Has to be the home console. Here are the issues I had:

On my none home console I could not play at all. My account would not even sign in with the password. Said I needed an internet connection.

On the home console I could not sign in. Needed internet connection. I really did not want to put my password on the console but decided to use a passkey. That solved the issue. I was able to get on.

My oldest son did not have these issues because he was set to automatically sign in. And 1 of my other sons had a passkey and no issues while the other could not play because he did not have a pass key or automatic sign-in.

I set my console to offline mode but it just does not work. I am assuming this is because the One does not store your password on the console unless it is the home console and you are using a passkey or automatic sign-in.

I would suggest you try the passkey route. Set the console to offline mode in the settings. Then, while connected to the internet if you can get to a connection set up a passkey. Then you should be able to use that passkey to sign in offline.

Just my experience and others may and probably will have ideas.

Could you use your phone as a hot spot just to sign in ? That wouldn't use any data on your phones plan would it? I'm just guessing because I'm no expert.

@viking yep,you can use your phone as a mobile hotspot to connect,but it does use your data plan.ive even downloaded console updates using mine when my internet went out for a few days

Most of the time the stuff you download off the Xbox 360 market will not play offline. I know you can't play Arcade games or Indie games offline (that's why you can't play Minecraft offline), I haven't checked if Xbox Games on Demand work offline, but I
assume that they also don't. Since the license of the game is on your Xbox 360 you would have no problem playing the same game on other profiles.

If the game has an offline mode or "campaign" you can play that offline but this specific game can't be played offline as it's an always online game and requires gold membership.

Hey there Baker,

Sorry to hear you are running into these problems when trying to play your console offline. In order to actually get the games to work while your console is offline you would have to set up the Home console under the account that owns the games. So for example
if you own the games on your account, you would need to set up the Home console under your account while the console is online.
