xbox one cant hear party chat

so other people can hear me but i cant hear them, this problem just started 20min ago

Skype chat help

I dont want to use party chat/the Xbox one headset. Even if I did when were in a xbox one party we cant hear each other in that even with party chat "turned on"

 

Do I need a skype account to talk on party chat?

On the XBOX-One I can get into party chats, but I cant hear anyone talking, or I cant talk. Do I need to get a skype account to be able to hear and talk to my friends in the party chat?

 

There was a brief outage of some of the party services. If you are still experiencing a problem go ahead and do a hard reset on your console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power
cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart the console. Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!

 

when i take out the wire from the xbox 1 controller i can hear them what is going on

 

I am currently having the same problem. Please try to figure this out quick, it's kind of getting irritating!

 

If you haven't already, could you try and pair your controller with your account and have us know if you were helped by this.

As soon as I pair the controller with a different account on my console, I can then hear my friends but they can't hear me. (linking the controller with my account doesn't work)

 

@Bastients - If you haven't already, try
power cycle your console and if that doesn't help, try
remove your profile and
re-download your profile from Live. The latter require you to know the username and password for your Microsoft account.

could you tell me what your nat type is under your network settings ?

 

My nat type is open. and neither of those solutions worked @taidara

 

I tried the power cycle again, and it's finally working now. Thanks for all the help guys!

UareTheProblem, It may just be blind luck but fortunately it does resolve a lot of issues and that is the reason it is typically suggested as a first option.
