Xbox One Can't get an IP address

That one I actually can't answer. Your friends may have set ups regarding their profiles and consoles that make it work like that. The IP address error is simply one of the things that is shown when the Xbox can't get an IP address. This is common when connecting
through computers and phones, and can't really be helped since there's no way to log into those and give the Xbox an IP address. You are kind of running into 2 separate problems in this case... One being your location, the other being that the Xbox just
doesn't seem to get an IP address from the ways you currently hook up anymore.

Tried that.....Xbox can't connect to internet after manually changing the IP. Error reading "Cannot Get an IP Address"

Hi WilliamSalmeron, I hope you're doing great despite the issue you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

To fix this, make sure that all the packs and add-ons required for the games are installed. To do so, please follow the steps below:

"1. In My games & apps, highlight the game Call Of Duty Cold War (but don't select it).

2. Press the Menu button on your controller, and then select Manage game and add-ons.

3. Select the game in the upper-right corner of the screen.

4. Choose Manage installation on [drive name]. This displays a list of items, including the base game and any available add-ons or game features.

5. Select the tickbox for each item that you want to install (or untick to uninstall).

6. Select Save changes."

Once you have to make sure that they're all installed it should fix the issue wherein the console is asking you to purchase it.

Now to fix the issue with your multiplayer connection please follow the steps below as per Xbox Support:

"Make sure your router has the latest update"

"Make sure your router has Teredo connectivity enabled."

Once done, perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.
