Xbox one cannot control TV volume

This is getting really annoying now, they launched this new xbox with the big idea of watching tv through it, which worked fine at start, and how it's completely messed up going on four weeks now, I'm not the biggest football fan but I was looking forward
to snapping the tv while I was playing bf4 watchdogs, titian fall and so on, so as to not miss any goals or highlights, the more time goes on bearly any notification from Microsoft that they are trying to fix it or if they even know about it and I'm not getting
any reply from xbox ambassadors compleatly stone walled I'm thinking that this is not going to be fixed by the end of the World Cup! Should we just live with this problem Microsoft, maybe just get a play station then, just sell the xbrick b4 more problems
occur and Microsoft ignores us!

So it's been several months from my original post. I have yet to receive my tv capabilities such as the simple xbox volume up/down. I was just wondering if they are still looking into this problem. Especially when the new update is going to allow video playback
from a USB. I would like to have the volume controls back on my media remote. I'm very tempted to just to a complete factory restore but seeing how I only have about 20gb left on my HDD, I really don't want to reinstall everything again. I really want this
feature back, it's been nearly 3 months

 

I'm going to bump this thread. I'm in the preview program and up until NXOE my kinect worked fine with my Sony receiver and controlled volume and muting fine. Now, it will only mute and unmute my receiver but not make the volume go up or down at all unless
I go through setup and send the command when "finding" my receiver. I have gone through every possible option/configuration/troubleshooting solution and have not been able to fix the problem.

What's the make and model of your receiver? What troubleshooting steps have you done?

 

I seem to have a similar issue (can mute / un-mute, but not turn volume up / down).

I bought my Xbox One a few days ago and am using IR Blasters to my AV unit (Pioneer VSX-S300).

During set-up, the volume turns up OK, but not when the set-up wizard has completed.

What I can see (as the IR blasters flash red when in use) is that during set-up, the volume up and mute commands flash 3 times for each button press (and works). Outside of the set-up Wizard, the mute/un-mute flashes 3 times, but the volume up / down flashes
just once for each key press.

It seems there is a difference between what is being sent for volume up / down when in the set-up Wizard and when trying to use the controls.

I can't see any options in the UI to change this, but I may have missed something...

any thoughts out there?

 

I'm having the exact same problem with my pioneer vsx-519. Everything works in the wizard, then volume up and down doesn't work.

I have the latest November 2017 updates for everything and the EXACT same issue. Volume changes during setup but not after.

TV on & off works though.

Samsung Smart TV.

Yup same here. Works in wizard then volume control doesn't work later. All settings the same moving from xbox one day one to xbox one x.

Hmm, I have a Samsung smart TV hooked up in addition to my Pioneer receiver. This is surely some software issue

 

Having this same issue with a Pioneer VSX-421

Volume up works in the wizard - but not after. It only mutes. Anybody any ideas??

 

Does Microsoft monitor these forums to provide help?
