Xbox One cannot connect to wired network!

I just moved into my college dorm and tried connecting my Xbox One with a CAT6 cable to the ethernet port on the wall. I had to re-set it up with the internet after turning it on and chose wired connection and it says it couldn't connect to the internet.
Could the issue be something on the university's side? The download speed is 100mb/s, btw. Could it be possible that the Xbox One doesn't support that kind of speed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

wifi issues

So recently my xbox one has not been able to connect to my wifi network. It has before in the past and one day up and stopped working. I've called xbox customer support and went through troubleshoot steps with them but so far they have not helped. The wifi network shows up but whenever i try to test the network connection i get an error message that says 'cannot get an IP address'. I tried a wired connection and that works but i am not able to keep it wired all the time. If anyone might have a solution please help!

CANT CONNECT TO NETWORK!!!

When i try to connect to xbox live it will not connect to network and comes up with the error 'cannot obtain ip....' i tryed all of the xbox help solutions! my connection is wired and is connect straight into my o2wireless box?????? was working fine one
week ago!!!

The Xbox One definitely has no issues support that kind of speed. It is almost for sure something to do with it being a University network. Most University networks have some sort of MAC filtering or a process for registering devices to use on the network.
Contact your local Network Admin for assistance.

No, either wired or wireless, it recognizes that there is an Xbox One on the network, but says it cannot connect, as I stated at the beginning of this post.
