Xbox One cancel game update deletes game SO FRUSTRATING

When updating a game on Xbox, if you "Cancel" the update, it gives you a standard warning (that nobody would read) and then DELETES THE ENTIRE GAME?? What the heck?!? That is SO un-intuitive. And INCREDIBLY inconvenient. Great, now I have to download a
100GB Halo MCC game, surpass my internet data cap, and wait 5 hours to play with my friends.

Please add a more distinct warning that your game will be deleted.... OR just remove the cancel option! Why is it even there when pause effectively does the same thing??

Ugh... very disappointed, but not surprised by this Xbox UI failure.

Hello,

The pause does net effectively do the same thing. When u restart ur console and didn't found the update. You have to go to your Games and Apps and start the Game. Then will the Update continue.

Hello pause and cancel are 2 different things. When you pause a download it does just that pauses it at point where it currently downloaded to. Once you select resume it will pick right up where the pause left it off at. Cancel will cancel the game downloading.
You have to read the warnings that come up. Especially if it could be something that damages your console. Sometimes it might says dont interrupt or turn console off at this point...thats very important wouldn't want a bricked console. I would just pay close
attention to the messages that pop up, its there for a reason.

it is replacing the files as it downloads, if it is cancelled then the integrity of the game is affected and they just delete the lot, don't ask me why they don't just run a scan to verify files before starting the update again like many other platforms
do. But this is Microsoft and they love going backwards.

Reason for the game being deleted if an update is cancelled. Games always need updates and today the updates are more and more. If one starts that means it is writing data in the game, once it is cancelled the game is deleted so the game don't become corrupt.
This was found out by a lot of research that most corrupt games were due to cancelling of an update then restarting the update at a later time. So now it uninstalls the game to protect it from being corrupt.

Is a safe option....because when you cancel the update could corrupt the game data, so in all games and apps in xbox one when you cancel and update will delete all the game including the update and only will keep the other content (dlcs). When you put
back to install it all over again, you are now downloading the game with the update included.
