    my HDTV cable box has only 1 HDMI slot and it is currently connected to my HDTV so that I can watch HD cable TV. To access the added features of the Xbox One can I use an hdmi switcher or splitter?

    No. It functions via HDMI in, if you're not feeding a signal via the HDMI in then there is nothing to view. I imagine converters for a bunch of tv signal styles are in the works though.

    XO has just HDMI ports on the back. So no way to help students and dorms.
